Built From a Belief in What Our Islamic Centers Can Become

Build with Barakah was created to help dedicated Islamic-center leaders turn good intentions into meaningful progress.

Why We Created It

Our Islamic centers are filled with people who care deeply about serving their communities.

We believe those leaders deserve practical tools and support to help bring the values we already believe in—amanah, shura, service, humility and care—into the everyday way our organizations lead and operate.

That's why we created Build with Barakah.

Meet the Team

Three Muslim business and leadership professionals came together around a shared desire to help strengthen the institutions that serve our communities.

Malik Khan

Malik Khan

Malik has spent more than 30 years working with leadership teams to bring clarity where there was confusion and alignment where there was friction. He has seen how thoughtful systems—when grounded in sincerity—can transform not just organizations, but people. For Malik, supporting masjid leaders in building healthier, more intentional ways of working is deeply personal.

Salim Omar

Salim Omar

Salim is an entrepreneur, CPA, author and business advisor who has spent more than 30 years building businesses, mentoring leaders and sharing what he has learned through speaking and writing. For Salim, this work is a way to bring those experiences into service of something deeper: helping masjid leaders bring greater clarity to how they lead while staying anchored in what truly matters. Salim is passionate about this work and believes stronger Islamic institutions can make a lasting difference in the lives of Muslims and the communities they serve.

Kashif Zubair

Kashif Zubair

Kashif is an entrepreneur and business leader whose work has focused on bringing Muslim entrepreneurs, professionals and leaders together to build relationships, create opportunities and strengthen the broader Muslim community. As founder of the American Muslim Chamber of Business, he has seen what becomes possible when good people connect around a shared purpose. Kashif brings that same spirit of connection, community and service to the work of strengthening our Islamic institutions.

A Bigger Vision

We believe strong Islamic centers can have an impact that reaches far beyond their walls—nurturing stronger families, developing future leaders, creating belonging and educating the next generation.

Our vision is to help Islamic centers become stronger, healthier and more effective—so they can better serve their communities for generations to come.
